NCAFA Flag FAQ

The National Capital Football Association is responsible for organizing the spring flag
football league in which the Riders teams actively participate. If you’re looking to gather more
information about the league, you can visit their website at www.ncafa.ca

The excitement of the flag season begins with players hitting the field for practices in late
March or early April, gearing up for the season that kicks off in mid-May. The season lasts till
the end of June, offering a thrilling experience for both players and fans. During the week,
players attend one practice session from Monday to Thursday, where they can hone their
skills and improve their gameplay strategies. These practice sessions provide the perfect
opportunity for players to fine-tune their techniques and better understand their team’s
dynamics. On Saturdays and/or Sundays, the highly anticipated games take center stage,
where players get to showcase their talent and compete against their opponents in an
exhilarating and competitive atmosphere.

Our programs are designed to cater to players in the age groups of U10 (born in 2015 and
2016), U12 (born in 2013 and 2014), and U14 (born in 2011 and 2012).

It’s worth noting that the composition of teams in flag football is usually a mix of experienced
and new players, regardless of age group. Fortunately, coaches are always present to
provide guidance and support throughout the game. For those who are unfamiliar with the
sport.

Our club takes pride in having highly trained volunteer coaches who receive extensive
support and assistance throughout the season. We conduct a specialized coaching clinic at
the beginning of each season to ensure our coaches are well-equipped to handle any
situation. Additionally, we require all our volunteer coaches to submit a police records check,
current to within the last two years, to maintain a safe and secure environment for our
members.

Our club operates solely with the help of volunteers. We value the efforts of our volunteers
and greatly appreciate their contribution to our community. If you are interested in being a
part of our team and helping out, you can register as a volunteer or send an email to
info@myersriders.ca. Our team will ensure that your request is forwarded to the relevant
person who will guide you through the process. We look forward to working with you!
